Its a joy to have access to a laser cutter. :) This evening att Geekubator gave us some time to learn OpenSCAD and laser cut the creation with our laser cutter. Check it out and download the parametric file as well as a .dxf version from Thingiverse.com.
If you want to understand the basics of 3D printing as well as how the Open Source software Skeinforge works, just take a look at this excellent video tutorial made by Neil at Fablocker.org.
Having a 3D printer is very interesting. It’s not like having big-screen TV or advanced microwave oven – it’s an inspiring machine that makes you want to make stuff! :)
This time we decided to design a simple hook for hanging stuff from 12 mm (1/2 inch) water pipes in bathrooms. You can download the file from Thingiverse.com.
Recently we wanted to make an 3D-printable object on our Makerbot that filled a useful purpose. One way of finding out what to do is to analyse stuff that can be annoying and try to solve that problem.
Immediately we thought of the different ways people hang garbage bags. In most cases they get cramped into baskets or buckets which can have some disadvantages. The challenge then became to design a garbage bag holder that would be printable on our 3D printer.
